Bag Filters

Bag Filters

Bag filters are most efficient filters in dust collection family. Bag filters with non- woven filter media will retain the filtration of dry dust particles up to 99.99% down to particle size of 3 micron. The dust laden air enters the bag house through the horizontal inlet and stores the dust in the discharge hopper. Fine particles travel up ward and collects around the filter bags. Clean air passes through the bag and exhausted to the ID fan or chimney as applicable. The cleaning arrangements of the bags will classify the filters in two methods such as pulse jet bag filters and shaking type bag filters.

Bag filters working with pulse jet of high pressured air to clean the bags are called as pulse jet bag filters. High pressure jet of compressed air pulsed through the bag at timed intervals will remove the dust particles deposited on the bags to the discharge hopper. Pulse jet bag filters can be used from 500m3/hr. and even up to 5,00,000m3/hr. for any kind of dust particle. Ryton/Gortex media are to be used for temperatures more than 1800C. Screw conveyors and rotary air locks will be used for dust discharge from the bag filters.
